About Us
MEET Our PEOPLE
We are a small winery of devoted individuals who care deeply about the quality of the wines we make and the genuine hospitality we offer. We’re just as honored by the place our bottle occupies on your table as we are by the occasion of your visit to our winery. We invite you to sit around our table, enjoy our wine and add to our story.
These are the people who spend their day working to bring our wines from grapes on the vines to the bottle on your table.
Meet the team
Patrick Taylor
For California born Patrick Taylor, the journey to winemaking was circuitous if not inevitable. Trading a long-held culinary ambition for the brief distraction of pursuing a degree in History, his academic plans were interrupted by the life-altering experience of home brewing beer. Fueled with a new love of fermentation and an abject determination to make it his life’s work, he moved to Portland, Oregon.
Working in Portland restaurants for the next several years, Patrick heard on many occasions of the fermentation and viticulture programs at Oregon State University. Finally acting on the advice of several winemakers (and one brewer), he altered his headings, moving to Corvallis to finish his education, ultimately receiving his BS and MS degrees from their College of Agricultural Sciences in viticulture and fermentation sciences.
Working Harvest for numerous Willamette Valley wine producers, including a short stint in 2003 as assistant winemaker at Torii Mor, his last move was in 2004 to Cana’s Feast. Serving as assistant winemaker under owner/founder Gino Cuneo, his education in commercial winemaking had just begun. Taylor accepted the reins in 2007 and has continued learning the craft while never losing his love for the magic of fermentation, nor his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of it.
Amy Querin
Born in Eugene and raised in Portland, Amy Querin is a lifelong Oregonian. She came to Cana’s Feast in 2011 with 15 years of event planning experience under her belt.
Her position at Cana’s Feast has evolved over the years to include managing not only events, but also overseeing the tasting room, wine club, and marketing efforts. Ultimately, the opportunity to offer great hospitality to our customers is her top priority and favorite part of her job.
When not at the winery, you’ll likely find Amy spending time with her adult children or wandering outdoors, enjoying all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Bryan Odegard
Bryan is our national wholesale manager, oversight to our state-to-state distribution partners. Bryan left the restaurant scene in San Francisco and began his wine industry career in ‘02 in his hometown of Seattle, as a sommelier at Wine Spectator award winning restaurants and then in the wholesale side of the business. He worked his way up into sales management at regional and national distributors, then was promoted to the supplier side working for prominent European importers, representing their distributed portfolios throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Cana’s Feast represents the best of what’s next in northwest wine, and that’s what led Bryan to the winery. “The execution of our Italian Heritage Family of wines was compelling enough to want to come work here,” Bryan says. “These wines represent what is classically old world and local—to be able to pour these wines for restaurants and retailers always leads to a compelling conversation about our complete portfolio.”
When Bryan isn’t in the market tasting with buyers, he’s spending time with his wife and 2 boys—but when he happens to carve a few moments of time out for himself, he’s at a live rock show with friends, who are typically wine industry folk . . . so the wine conversation with Bryan never ceases!

Our wines exist to cultivate community & celebration. The passion we pour into each matches our commitment to inspire gatherings where the Cana's Feast family joins yours
Jason Brumley
Jason Brumley joined the team at Cana’s Feast in 2009, a few months after working his first harvest at Lange Estate Winery and Vineyard. His first year with Cana’s Feast was spent engaging customers in the tasting room and at cellar club events. The call for production was strong and, in the fall of 2010, he found himself elbow-deep in our grapes.
After working the 2011 harvest in Australia, Jason returned to production at Cana’s Feast in 2012. He continued on in variable capacities at the winery until 2016, at which point he joined the production team full-time in his current position as our assistant winemaker.
Prior to working in the wine industry, Jason attended the University of Memphis with a focus on philosophy. He spent 15 years in fine dining, which eventually led him to a love of wine and stoked an intrigue in the winemaking process itself. He moved to Oregon and attended the Viticulture and Enology program at Chemeketa Community College.
Brumley spent his formative years in Memphis, TN and currently resides in McMinnville, OR with his wife and two cats. When not at the winery, you might find him photographing flowers in the garden or listening to music.
Sam Parra
Sam Parra is the newest addition to our small team. He brings 20 years of sales, marketing and hospitality experience. He attended Napa Valley College and Sonoma State University. Sam started his wine career in 2000 in Napa Valley where he was born & raised. He was an active IOOF member for over 15 years back in California where he assisted the lodge in fundraising events. Growing up in St. Helena, CA majority of his family is in the wine business so he expressed interest in the wine business fast. For self education he has traveled through other wine regions in Portugal, Spain, France & Italy is next on his list. Cana's Feast Winery will be a perfect fit for Sam since he will also dedicate time for philantrophy efforts through a non-profit. His favorite aspect of his job is to deliver world class hospitality and educate guests of the great varieties grown in the Northwest. During his spare time Sam enjoys spending time with family, hiking, cooking, traveling, playing with his boston terrier Noelle, live music and anything wine related. He lives with his wife Allison in Dallas, OR where they will establish their roots in Polk county.

Wes Guernsey
Kansas Native Wes Guernsey joined the team in 2011, working in the Tasting Room while assisting with a myriad of other day-to-day tasks that go beyond customer service. Though assisting with administrative tasks can often be the dullest part of a day, his cheerful willingness to help and can-do attitude are enough to make even Handy Smurf turn green with envy. In the years of working with our guests, Wes has set a standard for developing strong ties with them, adding a very real personal touch to the hospitality we offer.
