2021 Merlot - Destiny Ridge Vyd.

Big plumy aromas extend to blackberry & cherry fruit, accented with sweet notes of cinnamon, toasty barrel spice, and vanilla. Dense flavors of dark plum & summer-ripe cherries integrate seamlessly with exotic vanilla and a nostalgic hint of pipe tobacco. As has been the tradition with our Merlot (since v2014?), the composition has an inobtrusive 5% Cabernet Franc added to the blend – a quiet nod to our colleagues on the Right Bank of Bordeaux. Aside from the discrete bump in complexity, the naturally soft and silky texture of Merlot gets a touch of weight and a structural lift by some well-fitted, almost elusive tannins.
